Latest acrylic experiment…

This painting is acrylic paint on a 16″ x 20″ canvas. I used a b/w photo of the site provided by the Winter Garden Heritage Association.

I took liberties with the color and rescaled a few items for compositional value. That’s the reason we paint and not snap photos. I’m focusing on drawing with color rather than painting in a drawing.

This is the current site of West Orange County Library’s Battaglia Branch in east Winter Garden, Florida.

Tip for my surgeon..

What a year, this 2020. COVID lifestyle change in March and emergency surgery on a ruptured disk in April and a follow-up disk fusion in July. Just getting back to it and now, to survive Election Day.

Dr. Barry Kaplan put my back together and to show my appreciation of being able to walk again, I gave him a watercolor of the #11 hole at Isleworth Golf Club in Windermere, FL. Sound familiar? It might, Tiger used to live there and it’s where his ex practiced her nine iron. Dr. Kaplan is a member and plays the course.

The green depicted as it was in 2001.

Thanks to Dr. Kaplan and his staff.

All my work in one site… and my artist site,, is now combined. View my work, posts and ‘the Printshop‘ conveniently in one location.

Find a navigation tree for and for at the bottom of each page. Visit the Printshop to purchase giclée prints of selected paintings. I will continue to add images to the Printshop periodically, check back often.

Figure Study in Acrylic

This study’s subject was drawn using a pencil drawing of a model for reference. Using acrylics, I started with a watercolor approach and ended with opaque technique.

Acrylic on 9×12 canvas board

Been a while since posting…

May already and finally something to post. Haven’t been able to paint during the first quarter but finally broke out my acrylics and recently painted this from a photograph.
