Spent a fabulous day there in 2006. After the donkey to the top ride, we rented mopeds and decided to go to Oia. A painting subject at every turn. I wanted to win the lottery and move there and paint all the images, not worrying about sales, just living the “endless summer.” We followed a narrow road down to the harbor and picked a freshly caught fish from a wheelbarrow full of ice and wiggling entre’s. Best lunch ever. We ate in the seaside cafe along the habor’s edge.
This was the subject for artist Tim Wilmot for his December ’22 demonstration, a monthly event. You catch the video on You-Tube. I’ve been following him for a year now and his demos have influenced my work.
