I was invited to paint en Plein Air during a recent fundraiser at the Nehrling House in Gotha, Florida. I choose to paint the ‘greenhouse’ that is located in the center of the gardens. I wanted to capture the building on canvas in the event it is decided it can’t be saved.

The estate had fallen into disrepair but since being designated a historic site, volunteers are working to repair and refurbish the grounds and buildings. A greenhouse is in dire need of help. Hurricanes blew out the glass panels and the aluminum and wood frame needs replacement.

Panted in the studio from a photo of the greenhouse door looking out.
